Be BOLD Or Italic, Never Regular

Hello dolls! Another week, another blog post! With my birthday came an excuse to do some shopping 😉. The Fiancé offered a Forever21 shopping spree as my birthday present (which I was gladly accepting!) and I couldn’t help but buy a few things on the day of my birthday that caught my eye – beauty of online shopping? You can do it from the comfort of your couch while waiting for time to go by for your dinner reservation. I have a shopping problem… haha!

Anyway, back to the topic at hand! BE BOLD (OR ITALIC) NEVER REGULAR.

This quote resonated with me because hello, blogger. And also because I made it a goal this year to become a bit more adventurous with my style. I wanted to incorporate more color, more pieces that I normally would scroll past while I browse online, and more personality, if you will.

With that said, when I saw this yellow cropped top online I just had to have it. I feel like this bright piece can be styled just about every which way you can think of. Dressed up with a bodycon skirt and some strappy sandals or a pair of boyfriend jeans and white kicks. I veered for a more casual look.

Can anyone say Forever21 walking billboard? LOL.

Now, when I initially talked myself into buying these blue joggers I didn’t think of putting it together with the yellow top. I actually envisioned styling them separately in the moment. But, I received the email from Forever21 informing me that my package was on its way, saw the items and thought… “wait a minute, blue joggers… yellow top … BOLD AF!” If it wasn’t an “errand day” I actually would have opted for some black strappy heels. But because we were running around on a Saturday afternoon, I thought these booties would be a painless option 😉.

I don’t know what it was but I was going through a yellow/mustard phase at the end of February. I saw this mustard sweater in the clearance section at Forever21 and thought… “that would make for a really cute dress with some tights.” I looked through the pieces, went up a size and called it a day.

Sticking with my courage and wanting to get out of my comfort zone I decided to go with some patterned tights. I threw on the same booties but now that I think of it.. I think some good ol’ otk boots would look sick too!

What do you think of yellow/mustard? And what is the boldest piece of clothing you have in your wardrobe? Leave your answers in the comments below!

Until next time dolls!
